If you are in Finnish Lapland, that's the place to be! Anette and here husband are wonderful hosts. We just loved to spend our holiday at their place. We felt very welcome and very comfortable. Kaukonen is a very small village, but if you search a place where you can be by yourself and for recovering, that's the place to be! *Marion, 3/2020.
It was such a pleasure to stay at this wonderful, romantic cottage! It couldn't be better! The welcome was so warm-hearted; it was like meeting friends. Annette and her husband are really lovely persons! It was so nice to meet them! At the first night Annette's husband knocked at the door because there were northern lights! We had a great time in this beautiful small cabin. You will find everything you need there. Also Anette and her husband were very friendly hosts and we had no problems with the communication. The location of this cabin is soo quiet and the next store/city is a little bit away from the house but that was exactly what we wanted. It was a lovely stay. Anette and her husband are very warm and welcoming people. We hoped for a little privacy and it was more than that, because the house is not attached to their house, perfect for us. We went to the reindeers from the neighbors, arranged by Anette. It was awesome, we were able to feed them and the owner was very kind. Unfortunately the sauna is not available during the week, but it looked great. The house was clean, has everything you need. We were lucky to see the northern lights there (it depends on the direction of the northern lights whether the street lights will be a problem, for us it wasn’t). The house is in the middle of nowhere, so be prepared to bring your own food or to make a 20/30 minute drive to the closest restaurant. *Judith, 2/2020.

The place is very nice, quiet, no light pollution. Anette was a lovely host and communication was no problem at all. A car is needed when you want to go to Levi or somewhere else. We were happy that we stayed here and not in the very touristic spots (: *Eva, 12/2019.

Anette and her husband were wonderful hosts and such lovely people ♡ the communication before and during our stay was without any problems and they gave us a lot of tipps regarding activities and restaurants. Thanks to Anette we even got the chance to feed and pet reindeers! The cabbin was such a peaceful place and we immediately felt at home. It was absolutely clean and had everything you need. The village is very quiet and friendly. Activities and grocery shops can easily be reached by car. In our first night we even saw some polar lights! We can’t say enough great things about Anette’s place! The cabin is so warm and inviting, my wife and I didn’t want to leave. It’s clean and has everything you need to prepare meals. It’s location was wonderful and we were close to all the area attractions. Anette and her husband Matti were so kind to us and made us feel like family. They had so many helpful tips and even got us a visit with the neighbors reindeer farm, which is a must do. This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at, so I can’t recommend enough! Beautiful, clean and lovely cabine in Kaukonen (small village, around 10 minutes by car from Kittilä). The cabin got a fireplace what we really enjoyed! Everything else corresponds to the description. So there is nothing you will miss in this place. Anette and her husband are perfect and lovely hosts! The place to be in Lapland ! We had an amazing stay in the cozy cottage of Anette. The cottage is in the middle of the nature and well equipped. Anette and her husband are perfect hosts. We had a warm and friendly welcome. They are helpful and endeavor. We spend a relaxing and peaceable time. It is a perfect place to see northern lights and a good starting point for trips. Le paradis. chalet qui fait rêver dès l'arrivée dans la propriété. propreté irréprochable. déco très bien soignée. situé dans un petit village magnifique ou nous avons fait de belles balades dans la neige. situé à 30 min des plus grosses stations Yllas et Levi, pratique pour les activités et se retrouver au calme le soir. il manquait juste le sauna disponible uniquement le week-end, vraiment utile en plein hiver . We were in the cozy little house from Anette for 2 nights and it was just wonderful. We could not wanted anything more - the fire inside and everything was just so cozy and relaxing. Also it is in a really nice area where you can walk or drive with your car. :-) Anette and her husband got us even out of the snow when we got stuck on the side of the roud in the snow. Worth every single Penny. Anette and her beautiful Family deserve to be called superhosts! She made me feel very welcomed and comfortable within the first 5 Minutes. They were super helpful, much more than ever expected, with everything. Anette and her Husband made my stay in Lappland very pleasant with every detail and effort they put in. I am super grateful that I met them! The cottage is completely new and very beautiful. With a lot of small details they made it feel like a home. It is super clean and perfectly equipped! It is very warm due to the heating in the floor. Loved to stay there. The village is very small. They got a beautiful landscape around there. In wintertime there is even a reindeer farm close. Wir fanden den Aufenthalt bei Anette ganz toll! Sie ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns viele Tipps gegeben. Die Lage ist super und sehr ruhig. In unserer 2. Nacht dort, haben wir schon Nordlichter gesehen. Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, gemütlich und sauber. Es war alles vorhanden was wir gebraucht haben und hätte für uns nicht besser sein können. Our stay at Anette's in Lapland was so magical, the cottage was so picturesque and cozy inside yet with great under floor heating and showers. We loved lighting the fire inside and relaxing in beside it at night. Martti was very friendly as well and kindly let us know when we the northern lights were visible and then kept checking every hour for us! It is on the edge of the small village with few lights so we could see the northern lights just by standing outside. The cottage is very convenient for access to Levi and Lapland beyond. Anette is a very warm, friendly and responsive host. Her Cabin is situated in a beautiful and quiet setting and autumn scenery around the area was amazing. Cabin itself is quite comfortable and very well equipped. We had a car and it was easy and 15 minutes drive to Kittila. Mon épouse et moi même avons passé 5 jours merveilleux chez Anette. Son petit chalet a un charme fou et offre tout le confort . Situé un peu à l'écart de la station de ski de Levi( 30 min de voiture, route très facile, même en plein hiver), son emplacement est idéal pour profiter du calme , de la beauté des paysages Lapons et des aurores boréales! Il suffit d'avoir loué une voiture pour pouvoir facilement profiter des activité de Levi et rentrer le soir retrouver ce petit nid douillet devant un feu de cheminée. We really liked the Takkatupa! The place is very well equiped and the room is cozy and warm. We went for snowshoeiing which was a good experience and enjoyed the fireplace. Surroundings are beautifull and easy to go by car. *Iris, 1/2018.
Came during winter and experienced life like a Finnish. With the interior, the lighting, the exterior of the place and being able to be so near nature. Snowshoe out into the treelines. The place is in a small village of Kaukonen and people are so friendly. Can’t say enough for the good experience I’ve had that I altered my plan to stay another night. Anette's place is truly one of the gems on airbnb. Located in a beautifully secluded setting away from tourists and any disturbance, this property was the best place I have stayed on airbnb. Arrival was easy to coordinate and the cabin is clean, warm and spacious with all of the modern essentials you need for an amazing stay in Lapland. The area is stunning and quiet with lots of great activities and Anette went above and beyond to give us the chance to try new things like snowshoeing and kicksledding. We couldn't have asked for friendlier hosts or a nice place to stay we are only sad that our trip lasted only 5 days! *Matthew, 12/2017.

We had wonderful days at Anettes cozy little cottage. The cottage is situated in a small village, perfect for escaping the daily stress and to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Lapland. But with Kittilä and Levi are still two cities close to go shopping or skiing. The accommodation was as cozy as expected and everything needed was provided. The highlight was the first snow of the season and the evening in the wood heated sauna. If around, we would definitely come here again! *Julius, 10/2017.
This place is just perfect! It is like a wonderland and its so nice and silent. We would recommend a car to drive easily and see the best spots. Its not a touristic area- so u will feel like u are in the pure nature. The cottage has everything you need and its absolutely clean and in a very good condition. Microwave, coffemaschine, two stoafs, very! Comfortable bed, fireplace, and two shower, seperate toilet and a real finish sauna. U can sit outsite and enjoy your coffee and just enjoy this beautiful place! Anette and matti are just awesome, its like you become a family member, but aswell you can have your privacy- but they there if you need them! We will definitely come back soon! "Peaceful comfort"
We were looking for a peaceful getaway in Lapland that wasn't too far from both Levi and Ylläs ski resorts and we got exactly that. beautiful little log cabin, very comfortable with everything you need! nice fire place to warm up beside although it wasn't needed as the cabin is fitted with really good floor heating. Nice twin shower, amazing bed, so comfy! they also have a big traditional sauna available which is great to warm up with after a day of adventure around beautiful lapland. To top it all off the hosts were amazing, very friendly and accomodating. we would definitely recommend this place and would love to return again. *Heidi, 3/2017.
Anette was a perfect host: she was very friendly and welcoming, told us about the Finnish traditions and very interesting stories about the house. As soon as we went into the little house we felt home. It was so cosy and warm and there was everything you need for a perfect stay in the snowy Finnish landscape: an wood-oven, a kitchen with everything you need, a comfortable and warm bed, an amazing and big wood-fired sauna. D'abord un accueil très sympa des propriétaires. La cabane est très jolie, bien équipée. Et le sauna "à l'ancienne", chauffé au bois (contre supplément) est super agréable. Emplacement tranquille, bien pour les ballades dans la neige, et les aurores boréales. Un peu éloigné des activités touristiques. Attention au verrou de la porte: on avait cru laisser ouvert, et ça s'est verrouillé, la clé à l'intérieur... nous, tout nus dans le sauna, bons pour traverser la place gelée à pieds nus, une serviette autour de la taille pour chercher de l'aide... gros rires, mais heureusement que les propriétaires étaient là!! *Laurent, 3/2017.

“Amazing stay in real winter wonderland!”
I stayed two nights in "Takkatupa", which was beautiful, spotless and equipped to perfection! The spacious apartment is an open space consisting of sleeping area with comfy bed with fireplace right next to bed, fully equipped kitchen with dining table for 4, spacious double shower and a toilet. Everything seemed brand new! During my stay i tried the sauna, which is for sure the biggest one i've ever been to, with a monsterous stove, that i heard takes nearly 10 hours to heat up! Absolutely something to try!! First night i was lucky to see the northern lights just in front of the cottage (see the photo) it was absolutely magical! All in all, it is a perfect place to feel the real wild lapland away from the hustle of the levi resort nearby! Took about 20min to reach the cottage from the airport. 3/2017.
